Greenberg Traurig promotes two to shareholder in Mexico
Greenberg Traurig has promoted two lawyers to shareholder position in its Mexico City office, part of an elevation of 44 lawyers to shareholder across the firm.
Luis Cortés Panamenño (pictured) and Gabriel Lozano García Cabral, who both work in the firm’s corporate practice, are the new shareholders in the Mexican capital.
Cortés focuses his practice on commercial, corporate, and financial law. Luis represents both domestic and international clients in cross-border transactions, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, EPC contracts, FIDIC contracts, compliance and vessel financing.
Lozano focuses his practice on general corporate and securities matters, including international mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, commercial loans and securities offerings. He is experienced in cross-border litigation, representing foreign plaintiffs in contract disputes and suits filed in the US. He has served as a transactional attorney advising clients in connection with domestic as well as cross-border transactions.
The new shareholders span 22 offices and 13 practice areas. The firm also announced the elevation to of counsel and counsel of 34 attorneys from 18 offices, practicing in 11 areas of law.
The appointments follow a sixth consecutive record year of revenues for the law firm, which raked in some $1.64 billion in 2019.
