GT Law assists ASA in monetizing future revenues

Greenberg Traurig, through its team in Mexico City, has assisted Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), an agency of the Mexican federal government, in the creation of a financial mechanism that allowed it to monetize future revenues generated by some of its operations in the amount of MXP$5,000 million through a trust.

The funds originated from a financing granted by Banobras to the trust, which will allow ASA to carry out strategic transportation projects in Mexico, including the strengthening of the airport sector in the country.

In addition, Greenberg Traurig obtained authorizations from the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and other Mexican federal government agencies.

ASA has operated, managed, built and maintained the largest number of airports in Mexico for more than 50 years; it is the largest participant in the aviation fuel supply and storage market, and provides technical assistance and consulting in aeronautical and airport matters.

GT Law’s team was led by Banking and Financial Services practice partner Rodrigo Orozco Waters (pictured left) and associate Edgar Orozco (pictured right). Associates Francisco De Rosenzweig and Daniela Cobo also participated in the matter.
