GT Law represents Union Investment in refinancing Torre Mayor building

Greenberg Traurig has represented Union Investment Real Estate GmbH (Union Investment) in a USD $175 million refinancing of the “Torre Mayor” skyscraper in Mexico City.

Torre Mayor is considered one of the most earthquake-resistant skyscrapers in the world, with a height of 228 metres and 55 floors. It is also owned by a Mexican trust in which Union Investment holds 30% on behalf of the open-ended real estate fund UniImmo: Global.

The transaction involved advising on the loan agreement under US and Mexican law as well as German investment law.
