GT Law welcomes Guillermo Sánchez Chao to new practice

Greenberg Traurig has announced the expansion of its Mexico City office with the addition of Guillermo Sánchez Chao (pictured) as a shareholder to launch the International Trade practice.

“As international trade continues to be a critical area for many clients and a focus of attention in the global market, we are excited about the addition of a new leading attorney in the practice. The addition of Guillermo is a key step in continuing to grow Mexico’s offering as well as the firm’s capabilities around the world,” said Kara M. Bombach, chair of the firm’s Washington, D.C. International Trade Group.

Guillermo, who comes from Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa, has more than 35 years of international trade and customs experience. In addition to these two practices, he also focuses his work on supply chain and administrative litigation. He advises national and multinational companies in the development of projects and optimisation of strategies that facilitate and streamline foreign trade transactions to promote the production, import and export of goods, as well as the proper compliance with regulations established in local laws and international treaties.

Sánchez Chao is a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de México, holds a postgraduate degree in International Law from the University of Texas at Dallas and a diploma in Corporate Law from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico.
