H&K signs ex-Garrigues Camilo Gantiva as partner
Holland & Knight has added Camilo Gantiva Hidalgo as a partner in its Bogotá office
Holland & Knight has appointed Camilo Gantiva Hidalgo (pictured) as partner, who will lead the Capital Markets and Financial Services Regulation practice in the Bogotá office. He was previously co-head of Garrigues’ banking and capital markets practice in Colombia.
Enrique Gómez-Pinzón, executive partner of the office said: “Camilo’s experience with financial and capital markets issues broadens the range of legal services offered by Holland & Knight in Colombia, [his addition] will allow us to offer our clients in Colombia integrated cross-border capital markets legal services with the collaboration between our Colombia lawyers and our U.S. offices. This is a unique offering in the Colombian market that provides our clients with specialized legal services of the highest quality.”

Mr. Gantiva has more than 18 years of experience in advising on Financial and Capital Markets matters, having served as deputy general counsel to the Colombian Securities Market Self-Regulator and to a New York-based energy fund. Camilo advises clients on a wide range of matters, including initial public offerings (IPOs), other equity offerings, securitisations, the incorporation and operation of financial institutions, various issues for private equity funds, convertible debt offerings and a range of financing structures. He holds an LL.M. from New York University and a J.D. from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he currently teaches in a graduate program in securities law.
With his addition, H&K will have nearly 40 lawyers in Colombia, including 11 partners.
