H&K adds new lawyers in Mexico
Holland & Knight has announced the addition of José Antonio Vázquez Cobo as a partner and Gustavo Galindo as an associate in the Mexico City office. Prior to their incorporation, both were lawyers at Jones Day.
“The significant increase in litigation and arbitration work in Mexico has kept our disputes and resolution teams in Mexico City and Monterrey very busy. The additions of José Antonio and Gustavo will help us continue the growth of our services in this space,” said Luis Rubio, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Mexico City office.
José Antonio (pictured left) holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has represented prominent companies in high-stakes commercial disputes before courts and arbitration tribunals in proceedings that often involve significant international and multi-jurisdictional components. His practice encompasses a wide variety of litigation areas, such as infrastructure projects, contractual disputes, tort liability, class actions, shareholder/management disputes, warranty enforcement and insurance claims, as well as banking, finance, bankruptcy and real estate litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of industries, including medical, automotive, telecommunications, leisure, hospitality, technology and media, energy, advertising, real estate, banking and aviation.
Gustavo (pictured right) is a master’s candidate in private law from Escuela Libre de Derecho, and obtained a postgraduate degree in Amparo Law and a law degree from Universidad Panamericana. He focuses his practice on the representation of national and international companies in civil and commercial litigation before federal and local courts in Mexico. He has extensive experience in various areas of litigation, such as contractual disputes, tort liability, class actions, infrastructure, corporate restructuring and bankruptcy, conflicts with shareholders and directors, injunctive relief, enforcement of guarantees and insurance claims, as well as banking, financial and real estate litigation. He has also participated in national and international arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce.
