Holland & Knight and ARIFA advise Bladex on $145M loan to Banco Aliado
Holland & Knight in the US and Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega in Panama acted for BLADEX on a $145 million 3-year syndicated loan for Banco Aliado.
Banco Aliado is Panama´s fourth-largest bank. It is part of Grupo Aliado, a financial group with focus on local and foreign trade, ports, real estate and tourism.
Bladex (Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior) is a multinational bank originally established by the central banks of Latin American and Caribbean countries to finance foreign trade and promote economic integration in the region.
Bladex was the sole lead arranger and bookrunner on a the senior unsecured syndicated loan. The transaction attracted the interest of 15 financial institutions from Central America and the Caribbean, South America, China, Europe, and the United States, some of which represent new banking relationships for Banco Aliado. Proceeds from the loan will be used to support the growth of Banco Aliado´s loan portfolio.
