Holland & Knight assists World Impact Foundation with Mexico social housing loan
A pro bono team from law firm Holland & Knight has represented World Impact Foundation, a California-based non-profit corporation, with the arrangement of a $500,000 loan agreement entered into with Ecoblock International, a social housing company dedicated to providing marginalised communities in Mexico with opportunities to significantly improve their housing conditions.
World Impact Foundation provides loans and grants to organisations that help lift people out of poverty.
Ecoblock, which is also known as Échale in Mexico, will use the loan for the construction of affordable housing and home rehabilitation projects in Mexico.
The transaction was led by Holland & Knight attorneys Herman Lipkis (pictured), Alejandro Landa and Rosa María Cuevas.
The firm’s work on the project was done on a pro bono basis.
