Holland & Knight in Colombia advises on medicinal cannabis distribution deal
Holland & Knight in Colombia has advised Venezuelan pharmacy chain Locatel on a deal to distribute medicinal cannabis in Colombia produced by Khiron Life Sciences, a Canadian company that operates in various Latin American countries.
Khiron’s medical product portfolio is registered with the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) and its products are applied in the treatment of a variety of medical conditions.
Khiron’s Kuida cosmeceuticals line is the first mass-market branded CBD skincare line in Latin America, and which is distributed over the counter and online across Colombia and in some US states.
The company has forged partnerships with some of Latin America’s most respected medical associations, according to its website, and aims to create a regional network of physicians to serve as its primary distribution channel.

Locatel was founded in Venezuela in 1979 and is a pharmaceutical and medical equipment and services provider.
