Uruguay’s Hughes & Hughes advises Fresenius Medical Care on Ciame buyout

Uruguayan law firm Hughes & Hughes has acted as counsel to German dialysis treatment provider Fresenius Medical Care in its acquisition of local company Ciame Ltda.  

hector ferreira of Hughes & HughesWith this acquisition of a local dialysis treatment provider, Fresenius aims to introduce new technology to the Uruguayan market, expand the local distribution of its products and make better treatment available to kidney patients across the region.  

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Hughes & Hughes’ team was led by partner Héctor Ferreira (pictured), with associates Analía Fernández, Santiago Di Bello, Patricia Villalba, Lucas Galluzzo and Magdalena Castagno.
