Hunton Andrews Kurth advises IDB on Bright Mexico Solar loan

Hunton Andrews Kurth has acted for the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest) on a $5 million loan to Bright Mexico Solar Holdings II.

Vera RechsteinerThe loan was made on behalf of the Inter-American Development Bank in its capacity as administrator of the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in the Americas.

The proceeds of the loan facility will be used by Bright to purchase rooftop solar PV systems installed and leased to residential users in Mexico.

The US-based firm advised IDB Invest as international counsel, with a team led by partner Vera Rechsteiner (pictured), international counsel Alejandro Silva and counsel Siddharth Sethy.

Local legal advice to IDB Invest was provided by Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez. US-based firm Blohm Law advised Bright Mexico Solar as US counsel, while local legal advice to Bright was provided by Greenberg Traurig.

IDB Invest’s in-house counsel was Katherine Scheider Hallahan.
