Iokoi Advogados has announced José Raul Gavião de Almeida and Luiz Roberto Salles Souza as new partners
Iokoi Advogados has announced two new partners: professors José Raul Gavião de Almeida (pictured left) and Luiz Roberto Salles Souza (pictured right).
José Raul Gavião retired as judge of the São Paulo Court of Justice after more than 37 years as a judge. He has been a professor of Criminal Procedural Law at the University of São Paulo Law School since 1987 in the undergraduate, master’s and doctorate courses. He was pedagogic coordinator and vice-director of Escola Paulista da Magistratura (2001-2013), Justice Promoter in São Paulo (1978-1983), judge and TJ-SP (1983-2020).
Luiz Roberto Salles Souza retired as a prosecutor after serving as São Paulo’s Public Prosecutor for 31 years. He was a professor at the Catholic University of Santos, Paulista University and Mackenzie Presbyterian University. He is a retired prosecutor from MP-SP and participated in the Organization of American States’ Mission of Support against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras, having acted as a legal investigator and international prosecutor.
Besides the reinforcements in the team, the firm also announced a change in its corporate name, with the inclusion of the name of partner Bruno Magosso de Paiva after 15 years of partnership, adopting Iokoi e Paiva Advogados, without, however, announcing any change in the firm’s brand.
