JDF assists Minera Centinela in financing of Nueva Centinela-DMC project
Jara Del Favero Abogados has assisted Minera Centinela, its parent company Antofagasta Minerals and Marubeni Copper in obtaining financing for the construction of the Nueva Centinela – DMC project.
The transaction had a value of USD $2.5 billion. The Nueva Centinela-DMC project will increase copper, gold and molybdenum production and sales of these minerals.
Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Export Development Canada, Export-Import Bank of Korea, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, KfW IPEX-Bank, Natixis (Spain and NY Branch), Societe Generale and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation acted as lenders.
The advice involved the negotiation, drafting and review of the financing structure from a Chilean law point of view, both in the due diligence stage, as well as in the granting of the documentation to materialise the credits, guarantees, disbursement and other documentation and contracts usual in this type of operations, as well as the capital contribution by the shareholders of Minera Centinela.
