JDF promotes two new partners

Chilean law firm Jara del Favero has announced the appointment of Manuel Bernet Páez (pictured left) and Christian Schiessler Quililongo (pictured right) as new partners of the firm, to strengthen the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Litigation and Capital Markets practices, respectively. 

Manuel Bernet Páez joined the firm 16 years ago, working in the commercial, corporate, antitrust, regulated markets and administrative litigation areas. He holds a law degree from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, two Master’s degrees in Private Law, one from the Madrid Bar Association and the other from the Universidad de Los Andes. He also holds a PhD in Law and is the director of the Department of Commercial and Business Law at the Universidad de Los Andes. He is also a professor of Commercial Law and Unfair Competition at Los Andes and Adolfo Ibáñez Universities. He has participated in civil, commercial and administrative litigation. He is the author of publications on copyright, industrial property and unfair competition.

Christian Schiessler Quililongo has been part of the firm for the past 3 years, and focuses his practice on investment funds, creation of foreign investment vehicles, private equity investments, financing, debt issuance and wealth management advice. He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a Master’s degree in Business Law from the same university and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Northwestern University, Chicago. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a lawyer at Fontaine & Cía Abogados, and as a senior associate at the firms Guerrero Olivos and Ried Fabres, where he gained extensive experience in the areas of Capital Markets, Financing and Corporate Law.
