Juan Carlos Balzán (pictured) has 30 years of experience advising public and private institutions on Public Law, Public Procurement and Arbitration matters. He was founder and director of Conciliation and Arbitration of the Venezuelan National Directorate of Copyright, and was a partner at Baker McKenzie, in the contracts and government relations department of the Caracas office, as well as part of its Public Law group in Latin America. His practice focuses on Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Public Contracts, Concessions, Tenders, Oil and Gas Law, Mining Law, Intellectual Property, Municipal Tax Law and Compliance. He has been a lecturer at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and at several universities in the country, author of the book La Potestad Revocatoria de la Administración and co-author of La Regulación de los Hidrocarburos Gaseosos en Venezuela.
