Lefosse and other firms act in transaction between BTG Pactual that bought Grupo Universa
Lefosse Advogados, Pinheiro Neto, Pinheiro Guimarães e Spinelli Advogados acted in the transaction
BTG Pactual announced the acquisition of 100% of Grupo Universa, the holding company that controls Empiricus Research, the investment manager Vitreo, the investment platform Real Valor and the portals Money Times and Seu Dinheiro.
The deal aims to expand BTG Pactual’s operations in the retail investment segment.
The transaction is a new step in the development of BTG’s ecosystem and its consolidation with the main entities of the retail investment industry in the Brazilian capital markets. The sale of both Vitreo Group and Empiricus Group marks a new stage for both entities in the market and the synergy of their know-how and personnel. Both groups will have their identities maintained and will have independence to carry out their businesses in conjunction with BTG’s strategy.
The closing of the Transaction is subject to compliance with certain conditions precedent, including approval by the Central Bank of Brazil and the Brazilian Antitrust Authorities – CADE.
