Lefosse and Pinheiro Guimarães act on Statkraft–Tigre partnership

Lefosse advised Statkraft Energias Renováveis, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Norwegian group Statkraft, in a corporate partnership with Tigre Materiais e Soluções para Construção, which was advised by Pinheiro Guimarães Advogados.

The transaction aims to ensure the supply of renewable energy through self-production by equivalence. This model, provided for in the regulation of the electricity sector, allows a company to participate as shareholder in an energy generation project and, in proportion to its shareholding with voting rights, consume the energy generated with tariff incentives, as a result of partial exemption from certain sectoral charges.

The transaction, worth approximately BRL 300 million, will have a term of 15 and a half years, beginning in July 2025. The supply will correspond to approximately 70% of Tigre’s annual energy consumption in Brazil, which is equivalent to more than 11.5 megawatts per year, coming from the Serra da Mangabeira wind farm in Bahia. According to the companies, the initiative should also reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to the manufacturer’s electricity consumption by up to 70%.

Lefosse was represented by partners Raphael Gomes (pictured left) and Christiano Rehder (pictured center), associates Karina Vlahos, Rafael Machado, Luisa Leite, and Fernanda Dal Fabbro.

Pinheiro Guimarães relied on partner Paloma Lima (pictured right) and associate Gabriel Almeida.
