Lefosse has a new tax partner to focus on Indirect Taxes and Customs Duty

Lefosse Advogados boosts its tax practice in synergy with its other legal services

Lefosse Advogados has annouced João Paulo Muntada Cavinatto (pictured) has joined the firm to supplement and reinforce the tax practice mainly in the areas of Indirect Taxes and Customs Duty. The new partner is bringing a team of four with him to broaden a full-service strategy in synergy with the other legal services the firm offer.

The increase in Tax area is in line with the expansion of Lefosse’s ur business and services.

The new partner is a law graduate from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), holds a postgraduate degree in tax law from the same university, and has specialized in International Business and Foreign Trade.

João Paulo Muntada Cavinatto has experience in complex M&A transactions, and in business and supply chain structuring and remodeling projects. Cavinatto has been involved in negotiating tax incentives and special regimes at federal, state and municipal level. He has also participated in projects for obtaining and revising various customs regimes and reviewing legislation.

Cavinatto held the position of foreign trade director at PwC for six years and has also worked with two other Brazilian law firms.

With the arrival of Cavinatto, Lefosse now has 46 partners and more than 300 lawyers.
