Lenz & Staehelin instructed on sale of BSI by Brazilian bank BTG Pactual

Lenz & Staehelin, the Swiss law firm, advised BTG Pactual on the sale of its private banking arm BSI to EFG International, a listed Swiss private wealth manager.

The deal, valued at around $1.34 billion, consists in a cash payment of $980 million in cash and 52.6 million shares issued to BTG, giving the Brazilian bank a 20 per cent stake in EFG and a seat on its board.

The Lenz & Staehelin team advising BTG in this transaction included partners Hans-Jakob, Pascal Hinny, Astrid Waser and Patrick Schleiffer.
