Lobo de Rizzo Advogados announces new partner

Lobo de Rizzo announced new leadership and format of its intellectual property and data protection practice with the arrival of Marcos Blasi (pictured) as its 40th partner.

The firm, which already provides strategic consultancy in the areas of intellectual property, data protection, and franchising, expands its operations to companies that invest in research, development, innovation, and technology in segments such as life sciences, biodiversity, media, telecommunications, creative economy (entertainment, games, art, design, fashion, and luxury items), digital business models, among others.

Marcos has over 20 years of experience and has built his experience leading hundreds of litigations, issuing legal opinions and acting as a technical assistant in court expert examinations. He structured and led areas of contracts, intellectual property, and innovation in companies, coordinating strategic technology licensing and transfer projects, data protection, knowledge management, and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to managing intellectual property portfolios in Brazil and abroad. He also holds statutory positions at Associação Brasileira da Propriedade Intelectual (ABPI) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

He graduated in Law from Universidade São Paulo (USP), where he also obtained his PhD in Business Law, with an MBA in innovation management from Fundação Instituto de Administração, a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from Università degli Studi di Torino and the World Intellectual Property Organization, Italy, and a postgraduate degree in Public Law with Extension in Regulatory Economic Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas.
