Lobo de Rizzo and Cescon Barrieu advise on debentures issue by CPFL
Lobo de Rizzo Advogados advised CPFL – Companhia Piratininga de Força e Luz on the issuance of debentures non convertible into shares, unsecured, in a single series, for public distribution with restricted placement efforts according to CVM 476 in the total amount of R$ 334 million.
Cescon Barrieu Advogados advised the underwriters UBS Brasil Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários and Banco Itaú BBA.
The debentures were guaranteed by CPFL Energia. The issuer is an electric energy distributor of the CPFL Group, which operates in 27 cities of the state of São Paulo, in a concession area of 5,613 km². CPFL Energia, the holding company of the CPFL Group, is the second largest electricity distribution company in Brazil, accounting for more than 14% of all electricity distribution in Brazil and supplying power to more than 10 million customers in 687 cities spread over four states.
