L&W appoints new partner
Latham & Watkins has announced that Pedro Rufino Carvalho (pictured) has joined the firm’s London office as a new partner in the Latin America and Project Finance and Development practices.
Pedro joins from Patria Investments, where he was Managing Director, Global General Counsel. He has extensive experience advising clients in Latin America, Africa and Europe, with a particular focus on Brazil, on a variety of high-profile financings, project development, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures within the energy and infrastructure industry.
He brings more than two decades of experience in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, with a distinguished track record in both in-house and private practice. His practice focuses on advising private equity sponsors, financial institutions, corporations and other market participants on a variety of complex projects and M&A transactions. He also advises on various investment fund matters.
Rufino Carvalho is admitted to practice in Brazil (OAB-RJ) and in England and Wales as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in England & Wales. He received his law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005, followed by a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and executive education at the London Business School.
