MAC Advogados is the new boutique of dispute resolution

MAC Advogados is the new boutique focused on strategic dispute resolution that opened this week in São Paulo. It was founded by Mateus Aimoré Carreteiro (pictured left), a lawyer specializing in arbitration, litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods, who led Veirano’s dispute resolution department for more than a decade, where he worked for 22 years. Joining him as a partner is Igor Castro (pictured right), also a specialist in the area, with 13 years’ experience at the same firm.

The boutique has already started its journey with a full team trained by Mateus himself, who has coordinated Veirano’s practice in recent years, achieving significant growth and recognition in the national and international market for the area. Mateus says that he decided to invest in an authorial project when he realized that his time in full-service offices had come to an end.

The firm’s two partners hold LLM degrees in the United States – Mateus from Columbia Law School and Igor from New York University Law School – and both have worked for renowned US firms in the area of conflict resolution, including arbitration and alternative dispute resolution: Mateus as an international lawyer at King & Spalding and Igor at Quinn Emanuel.

The firm’s main practice sectors include construction and entertainment, in which the partners have extensive experience, as well as corporate, M&A and civil disputes, in both the public and private sectors.
