Machado Meyer advises Versalis on acquisition of Novamont
Machado Meyer Advogados advised Versalis S.p.A. in the notification to CADE regarding the acquisition by Versalis, a company directly and wholly owned by ENI, of 64% of the share capital and, therefore, sole control of Novamont.
Versalis already holds a non-controlling minority interest of 36% of Novamont’s capital stock. Through the transaction, Versalis, and therefore ENI, will also acquire full ownership and therefore control of Matrica, a 50:50 joint venture established between Versalis and Novamont.
Machado Meyer Advogados was joined by partner Maria Eugênia Novis (pictured), associates Ana Batia Glenk Ferreira and Ivan Vinicius Nunes Fernandes.
The legal advisors were Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, for Versalis, and ADVANT Nctm, for Novamont and Mater-Bi SpA, its seller.
