Machado Meyer and BMA on the acquisition of CFC by Treecorp

Machado Meyer advised Treecorp Partners Gestora on subscription of equity participation, through two investment vehicles (Coxa Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestratégia and Treecorp Fundo de Investimento em Participações III Multiestratégia), representing 90% of the stock capital of Coritiba Sociedade Anônima do Futebol. BMA advised Coritiba Foot Ball Club.

The investors also undertook an obligation to refurbish Coritiba’s stadium, at an approximate cost of R$ 500 million, and to pay the club’s current debt, at an approximate amount of R$ 250 million.

The transaction’s overall value might exceed R$ 1.3 billion reais, considering the investor’s contributions, the club’s own revenue generation and raising funds from third parties.

Machado Meyer advised Treecorp Partners Gestora and relied on led partner Guilherme Malouf (pictured left) and partners Bruno Eduardo Pereira Costa, Elton Minasse, Ivandro Sanchez, Renata Oliveira; lawyers Gabriel Leao Vazami, Joao Baptista Pimentel.

BMA advised CFC and relied on partners Amir Bocayuva Cunha (pictured right), Vitor Butruce, Pedro Frankovsky Barroso and Guilherme Zoghbi Ayala and associates Thiago Luís Silva Frazão, Thiago Nogueira Humberto, Jana Fraccaroli Basadonna, Pedro Henrique Gonçalves Si.
