Machado Meyer and Pinheiro Neto act on Carlyle Group’s investment in Madero
Machado Meyer represented Madero Indústria e Comércio S.A.; Pinheiro Neto represented Grupo Carlyle / Madrid Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestatégia
The Carlyle Group / Madrid Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestatégia invested R$300 million in Madero in new shares issued and acquired R$25 million in Madero shares previously owned by its founder, Junior Durski.
The Carlyle Group increased its stake in the company from about 27% to about 34%. The financing will be important for Madero to continue its expansion plan.
Machado Meyer represented Madero Indústria e Comércio S.A. and the controller Luiz Renato Durski Junior and had the team led by partners Elie J. Sherique (pictured top left) and Luiz Mascaro (pictured bottom left) and associate Mariana Miranda Perecin.
Hianaê Schramm was Madero’s in-house.
Pinheiro Neto represented Carlyle Group / Madrid Multistakeholder Investment Fund and included partner Henry Sztutman (pictured right), senior associate Thiago José da Silva, associate Otavio Balero Pereira de Carvalho, legal assistant Lucas Gabriel Walker, and legal assistant Maria Clara Ciseski Gonçalves.
