Machado Meyer assists IRB Re in the organization of Andrina

Machado Meyer assisted IRB Re in the organization of Andrina, the first special purpose vehicle (SPV) in Brazil dedicated to issuing insurance-linked securities (ILS).

This move comes after recent regulatory changes in Brazil that enable local entities to create SPVs for the purpose of underwriting collateralized reinsurance agreements and issuing insurance-linked notes to finance these agreements, which could be negotiated via private subscription arrangements or via public offerings.
