Madruga BTW in a agreement between Keppel, CGU and AGU

Madruga BTW represented the Singapore company Keppel Offshore & Marine in a leniency agreement signed with the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU) and the Office of the Attorney General (AGU).

Madruga BTW’s team worked together with Mattos Filho, Debevoise & Plimpton (USA) and Rajah & Tann (Singapore).

The company sought the CGU and the AGU to negotiate a leniency agreement related to the payment of undue advantages to public officials through a former consultant of the company in Brazil, between 2001 and 2014, mostly in connection with contracts with Petrobras.

The leniency agreement is inserted in the context of global collaboration, signed in 2017 with the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and with authorities from the United States and Singapore, related to the same facts.

The total amount of the leniency agreement is R$ 1,223,657,710.19, of which R$ 880,086,254.93 have already been paid as a result of previously executed agreements, and the company is responsible for the payment of R$ 343,571,455.25, which will be allocated to the public coffers of the Union and Petrobras within 30 days after its signature.

In addition to collaborating with the information it holds on the illicit acts, the company has committed to maintain its collaboration with the investigations and to improve its integrity program.

Madruga BTW had the partners Antenor Madruga (pictured left) and Ana Maria Belotto (pictured right).

Mattos Filho relied on partner Renato Portella and lawyer Lucas Guimarães
