Martínez counsels on $650m highway financing
Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa has counselled the lenders on the negotiation and execution of a USD $650,000,000 financing for the Santana-Mocoa-Neiva highway project, part of the 4G concession programme.
The transaction, closed on 21 June, involved the US and Colombian jurisdictions. It was a multi-jurisdictional, long-term, dual-currency, tranched financing.
Bancolombia, Itaú Colombia, IDB Invest, Banco Santander, MUFG Bank, Siemens, Société Generale, and BNP Paribas acted as lenders.
Other participating firms were Clifford Chance as US counsel to the lenders, Cuatrecasas as Colombian counsel to Patria/Mercantil, Milbank as US counsel to Patria/Mercantil, Ross PLC as US counsel to TMF, and Garrigues as Colombian counsel to the concessionaire with respect to EPC contract matters.
