Martínez Quintero advises on Patria’s acquisition of UnitedHealth assets in Colombia and Chile

Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa has advised Healthcare MX Holdings, a company managed by Patria Investments, on the acquisition of UnitedHealth Group’s business operations in Colombia and Chile.

The transaction, whose value remains confidential, involves a cross-border agreement spanning the United States, Colombia, and Chile. It represents a strategic divestment by UnitedHealth Group from key markets in the region and enables Patria Investments, a leading private equity firm, to expand and strengthen its presence in the Andean healthcare sector. The transaction closed on November 29, 2025.

Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa acted as buyer’s counsel, with partners Felipe Aristizábal (pictured) and Felipe Quintero leading the transaction. The firm’s team also included senior associate Alejandro Cepeda and associates Juan David Castro and María Sofía Negret.

UnitedHealth Group was advised by Brigard & Urrutia, with partner Jaime Robledo leading the local team, alongside Sullivan & Cromwell. Latham & Watkins advised the buyer on U.S. law aspects of the transaction, with partner Antonio del Pino acting as lead counsel.
