Marval O’Farrell Mairal promotes four new partners
Marval O’Farrell Mairal has named Laura Bolatti Cristófaro, Gonzalo Santamaría, Sergio Tálamo and Andrés O’Farrell as partners
Argentinean law firm, Marval O’Farrell Mairal, has promoted Laura Bolatti Cristófaro, Gonzalo Santamaría, Sergio Tálamo and Andrés O’Farrell, previously associates, as new partners, with the intention of strengthening its Corporate, Administrative and Energy, Banking and Finance, and Criminal Law areas.
Laura Bolatti Cristófaro (pictured top left), who joined the firm in 2004, specialises in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. She has led numerous transactions, advising buyers and sellers in complex M&A transactions and joint ventures. She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with honours in 2007 and was admitted to the Bar of the City of Buenos Aires. In 2013, she obtained an LLM from the University of Chicago, after which she spent a year working as a foreign associate in the corporate and securities team at Dechert LLP in New York.
Sergio Tálamo (pictured top right) is specialised in capital markets and corporate finance. He has extensive experience representing companies and investment banks in public offerings, private placements and tender and exchange offers, syndicated loans and securitization of assets involving a variety of debt, equity or hybrid instruments. He is a lawyer by the UBA since 2003 and obtained a Master’s degree in Finance and Business Law at the same university. Also, during 2017, he worked as a foreign associate at Linklaters LLP, in the New York office, USA.
Gonzalo Santamaría (pictured bottom left) has been part of Marval O’Farrell Mairal since 2009 and practices in administrative law and regulatory matters, specialising in electricity, utilities, infrastructure and government contracts. His practice is focused on energy transactions; he advises clients on renewable, thermal or cogeneration projects. He is currently part of the Public & Administrative Law Department.
Finally, Andrés O’Farrell (pictured bottom right) specialises in criminal law and criminal investigations, with particular emphasis on the protection of intangible assets, computer crimes, protection of confidential information and trade secrets, corporate disputes with criminal relevance, and corruption offences in different interactions between the public and private sector. Between 2009 and 2010, Andrés was a foreign associate in the criminal practice of Uría Menéndez (Madrid, Spain), where he advised clients on official investigations, internal audits and corporate fraud. He holds a law degree from Universidad Austral, a Master of Laws from Columbia University, New York, and a Master of Public Administration and Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
