Mattiuzzo, Viotto, Haddad Advogados has started operations in Brazil, offering nationwide coverage from its base in São Paulo and a branch office in Brasília. The firm was founded by lawyers Marcela Mattiuzzo, Aline Viotto and Frederico Haddad, who structured the practice around four main areas: competition law, regulatory affairs, technology, and third-sector matters. Marcela Mattiuzzo holds a master’s and a PhD in law from USP, teaches at IDP and previously served as chief of staff to the presidency of Cade, Brazil’s antitrust authority. Aline Viotto, a partner with six years of experience advising business associations, cooperatives, institutes and philanthropic funds focused on socio-environmental impact, has previously coordinated the advocacy division at the Group of Institutions, Foundations and Companies (Gife), served as an advisor to the Mayor’s Office of São Paulo, sat on the board of São Paulo Urbanismo (SP-Urbanismo), and worked as a parliamentary advisor at the São Paulo City Council, where she contributed to drafting the city’s Strategic Master Plan.
