Mattos Filho and Pinheiro Neto act on the sale of Maratá to JDE

Mattos Filho advised the Vieira Family in the sale of the entire equity interest held in Indústrias Alimentícias Maratá, a leading company in the production and sale of coffee and tea in the Northeast region of Brazil, to Jacobs Douwe Egberts BR Comercialização de Cafés, a company belonging to the Dutch group JDE Peet’s (owner of the brands Pilão, Cacique e Caboclo, among others), which was advised by Pinheiro Neto Advogados.

The transaction also included negotiation for coexistence of the brands used in the coffee and tea business, that were part of the sale, and other businesses that will continue to be developed by the Family. The transaction value was not disclosed, ans the closing of the transaction took place on January 4, 2024.
