Mattos Filho assists underwriters in Nubank’s IPO
Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados assisted the underwriters in the IPO of Nubank
Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados acted as advisor to the underwriters in relation to the IPO of Nubank, whose class A common shares were listed on the New York Stock Exchange and BDRs (Brazilian Depositary Receipts) at B3 S.A. – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão.
Nubank’s arrival on the stock exchange occurred through its holding company, Nu Holdings Ltd. based in the Cayman Islands, which consolidates all segments and countries in which the digital bank operates. Nubank’s IPO was pioneering in several aspects, in particular for being the first to simultaneously register a stock offering abroad with the SEC and with the CVM a BDR offering in Brazil, representing a historical milestone for the Capital Markets.
The Global Offering reached R$14,452,161,324.47, without considering the amount allocated to the Customer Program and the over-allotment option, placing Nubank as the leader in the volume offered among IPOs in Brazil, positioned as the most valuable bank in Latin America in terms of market value and, consequently, as the most successful Brazilian startup (“unicorn”) in history.
