Mayer Brown counsels CEMEX on sale of Dominican Republic operations
Mayer Brown has advised CEMEX on the sale by Sunbulk Shipping, CEMEX’s Spanish subsidiary, of all of its shares in Cemex Dominicana, and Transportes San Pedro, to a consortium led by Cementos Progreso Holdings, for a total consideration of approximately US$950 million.
The transaction will involve the sale of CEMEX’s entire cement, ready-mix and aggregates business in the Dominican Republic, and includes Cemex’s export business in Haiti. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2024.
Mayer Brown’s team was led by partners Jon-Paul Bernard (pictured left) and Gabriel Salinas (pictured right), and included partner Oral Pottinger and associates Brian E. Saleeby, Marco Portillo Diaz and Colin Rivera.
