Maria Beatriz Armelin Petroni is a new office focused on Business Law, Corporate Governance and Compliance
Maria Beatriz Armelin Petroni, a lawyer who has been working for over 20 years in Business Law, including transnational operations, foreign trade, banking, corporate, Compliance, and to improve the corporate governance of family-owned companies, has officially founded a law firm with the same name, dedicated mainly to business, Compliance, and Corporate Governance issues.
Maria Beatriz has worked in the last 11 years as a legal director and compliance officer and as a member of the Board of Directors of foundation and, in the past, she has worked in large law firms in Brazil and abroad, having assisted companies in the national and international expansion of their businesses.
Currently, she also acts, on a voluntary basis, as a business advisor for the Brazilian Institute of Business Law (IBRADEMP), as well as member of the ESG Committee of IBRADEMP, Member of the Regional Board of Fundação Projeto Pescar (social investment in a social-professionalizing program for the professional development of low-income youth). She is a mentor for the Pulsar Program of the Éveris Foundation, which provides guidance to young women aiming to reduce social and gender differences in the labor market. She is also a mentor and sponsor of Lingopass, a start up that trains vulnerable young people in the English language through scholarships.
She holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), London, a post-graduate degree from FGV, and a post-MBA from Saint Paul Business School in Corporate Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management, as well as from Columbia University/NY. She also took the IBGC Independent Counselor training course and graduated from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in SP in 1996.
Maria Beatriz has worked for the last 11 years as legal director and compliance officer at Coimex Empreendimentos e Participações. She has also worked in law firms such as Baker McKenzie and Machado Meyer Advogados.
