Moraes Jr advises Friesp Group in judicial reorganization

Moraes Jr Advogados is advising the Friesp Group, a food company in the meat processing segment, which is expected to start its judicial rehabilitation process at the end of March.

On February 1, Moraes Jr Advogados filed a precautionary measure with the 1st Civil, Criminal and Criminal Court of Boa Esperança (MG), approved last February 24 by the Court of Appeals of the State of Minas Gerais.

According to articles 305 et seq. of the Code of Civil Procedure, the precautionary measure must precede a company’s petition for judicial reorganization by 30 days.

Aiming to preserve the economic activity of the company and thus avoid damage to jobs and impacts to the local community, suppliers and customers, Moraes Jr. requested injunctive relief to determine the anticipation of the effects of the stay period, according to Law 11.101/2005. If the request is granted, Friesp Group’s essential assets can be maintained until the judicial recovery is concluded.

The firm relied on managing partner Cybelle Guedes Campos (pictured left) and founding partner Odair de Moraes Junior (pictured right)
