Moreno Baldivieso advises Peruvian paper on Bolivian startup investment

Bolivian law firm Moreno Baldivieso acted as local counsel to El Comercio, the Peruvian newspaper, on its investment on Ultracasas.

 

lapazUltracasas is an online real estate portal part of Ultragrupo, a Bolivian start-up, which also manages a loan comparison website. Ultragrupo has offices in La Paz (pictured), Santa Cruz and Cochabamba. 

According to media reports, Ultracasas received a round of investment of over half a million dollars, a record for a Bolivian start-up, from three business partners: El Comercio, SeedStars and Taris.

El Comercio is the oldest newspaper in Peru and one of the most influential media companies in the country. It owns several online classified portals.. 

SeedStars is a Swiss business incubator which invests in early stage firms based in emerging markets. 

Taris is based in Luxemburg and invests in online start-ups.

Partner Andres Moreno led the team at Moreno Baldivieso which advised El Comercio under Bolivian law.
