Morgan & Morgan appoints Alejandro Chevalier as new associate

Alejandro E. Chevalier has joined Morgan & Morgan to strengthen its Litigation and Arbitration practice

 Panamanian law firm Morgan & Morgan has appointed Alejandro E. Chevalier as an associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Department.

He holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua in Panama, in addition to benefiting from a scholarship in the International Law Exchange Program at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE-ICAI in Madrid, Spain. He obtained an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, along with an Advanced Professional Certificate in Law and Business from New York University Stern School of Business, and graduated from the University of Miami School of Law with an LL.M. in International Arbitration.

Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, he worked in the International Department of Akerman LLP as an international lawyer, and as an intern in the International Arbitration Department of Hogan Lovells US LLP, both in Miami, Florida, where he primarily represented Latin American and European investors, multinational corporations and state agencies in a variety of cross-border disputes, including international commercial and investment arbitration proceedings under the arbitration rules of the ICC, UNCITRAL, FINRA and the AAA’s international branch, the ICDR. Alejandro also represented international clients in arbitral award enforcement and annulment proceedings, and in judgment domestication disputes before US federal courts.

He is currently a member of the Panama Bar Association, Young ICCA, ICDR Young & International, ICC YAF, the New York University Alumni Association and the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEA). In addition, he is the author of several publications on legal, commercial and political issues.
