Muñiz strengthens with new partners and associates
Estudio Muñiz has announced the promotion of Alonso Vera, and the integration of Carlos Arata as new senior partners, as well as the promotion of Carlos Torres as a new partner.
The firm also announced the promotion of Enrique Blas and Pablo Moreno as senior associates and the appointment of 8 associates, including: Katherine Amaro, Brigitte Chamorro, Leslie Corahua, Maritza Escudero, Martín Guerra-García, Edith Lapa, Nadia Quispe and Renato Vásquez.
Alonso Vera (pictured left) joined the firm in 2012. He is a corporate lawyer, with extensive experience advising companies on civil, contractual and corporate matters. He has advised national and foreign companies in different areas in mergers and acquisitions processes, optimising their results in these processes. He holds a law degree from Universidad Católica de Santa María, a Master’s Degree in Business Law from Universidad de Lima, and a Diploma in Corporate Law from Columbia University. He previously worked as a lawyer at Banco Nuevo Mundo en Liquidacion and as head of legal services at Orion Gerencia y Construcción.
Carlos Arata (pictured centre), who joins the Corporate, M&A and Banking and Finance practice areas, has more than 15 years of local and international experience in corporate finance, project finance, M&A, capital markets and other corporate transactions. He has worked in firms such as Payet Rey Cauvi, Torres Abogados, Estudio Grau, Sidley Austin, DLA Piper, Clifford Chance and Estudio Rubio Leguia Normand. A lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, he holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Corporate Law from ESAN University, and an LLM in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law.
Carlos Torres (pictured right), from the Criminal Law area, joined Muñiz in 2008. Previously, he was a law clerk at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General’s Office. A lawyer from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, he has taken courses in stock market fundamentals and oral litigation.
