OAB denounces Eletrobras for contracting foreign offices

JF / DF and TCU were called to order for having hired foreign law firms. Irregularity can generate daily fine of at least R$50,000

 The Federal Council of the OAB has sued the Federal Court of the Federal District and the TCU – Federal Audit Court against Eletrobras for hiring foreign law firms last Tuesday (02/02).

The Order requested the TCU to require Eletrobras that in all its hires, with or without bidding, already carried out or to be carried out, the foreign law firms comply with all the prescriptions.

To the Federal Court, the request includes that the foreign law firms immediately provide or regularize their registration with the OAB of Brazil and that the Order’s participation in the contest be guaranteed in order to verify the regularity of the participating law firms, under penalty of a daily fine of at least R$ 50,000.
