Ontier Chile names Matías Kunstmann tax head

Ontier has added Matías Kunstmann (pictured left) as the partner in charge of the Tax area at its Chile office. The move reinforces the firm’s tax advisory capabilities in the country and builds a practice aimed at supporting both local and international clients with their operations, investments, and tax needs in the Chilean market.

Kunstmann brings more than 25 years of experience in tax matters, with much of his career focused on tax consulting for companies and individuals, tax compliance, and representing taxpayers before Chile’s Internal Revenue Service (SII), with particular attention to business groups, family businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Before joining Ontier, he was a founding partner of SCK Consultores / Kunstmann Abogados and previously worked at KPMG Chile, EY and Arthur Andersen – Langton Clarke. He holds a law degree from the Universidad de Chile and an LLM with a tax specialization from the University of Toronto. In his advisory work for companies and boards, he has also handled matters related to economic crimes, tax policy and compliance standards.

The development of the Tax area in Chile is closely linked to the growth of other practices where the tax dimension plays an increasingly relevant role, including Corporate, Finance and M&A. The Tax area will work in coordination with Ontier Chile’s other practices and with the firm’s offices across its network, supporting clients both in structuring their operations and managing their tax requirements.

With this appointment, Ontier has added six new partners across its offices in Latin America, Spain and the Middle East in 2026 as part of its international growth strategy. The development of the Tax practice in Chile is also expected to support companies served by the firm’s other offices, integrating local and international capabilities under a single service model.
