Pérez-Llorca advises Grupo Prodi on Atlas FC deal
Pérez-Llorca advised Grupo Prodi on the acquisition of Atlas FC from Orlegi Sports Global, structured through the purchase of 100% of the share capital of Kondaira, the holding company of the Atlas FC group. The transaction closed on 30 June 2026 for a confidential amount.
The transaction was led by Pérez-Llorca’s Spanish team, which advised Grupo Prodi on all Spanish-law aspects of the deal, while lawyers from the firm’s Mexico office also worked on the corporate M&A and antitrust workstreams. The firm’s corporate M&A group included partner Julio Lujambio Llamas (pictured), Ignacio Mozo Montull, Jaime Pérez Torroja, Juan Sánchez Alférez, Alberto Bustamante (Mexico office) and Jesús García.
The banking and finance side of the deal was handled by Ildefonso Arenas and Beatrice Lapi, while antitrust matters were led by Patricio Martínez from the firm’s Mexico office.
Atlas FC, based in Guadalajara, competes in Mexico’s Liga MX. The club changes ownership after previously operating under Orlegi Sports Global, with Grupo Prodi now taking control through its acquisition of Kondaira, the entity that held the club’s assets and operations.
