Pinheiro Neto counsels on Creditas investment round
Law firm Pinheiro Neto has advised Creditas Soluções Financeiras, a São Paulo-based credit fintech, on an investment round in the company in which Softbank, Vostok Finance, Santander InnoVentures and Amadeus Capital participated.
The Series D round featured Softbank as the lead investor, through its technology-focused venture capital funds Vision Fund and Latin America Fund, and which was joined by existing backers Vostok Emerging Finance, Santander InnoVentures and Amadeus Capital.
Softbank led the investment with $200 million, while the remaining $31 million was provided by the other investors. This new round values the company at about $750 million, according to the law firm.
Softbank is a multinational conglomerate that operates with technology, telecommunication, e-commerce, internet, finance, media and other business, including investing in start-ups through its venture capital funds.
The investment will go towards international growth starting in Mexico and expanding the firm’s product portfolio, with new offerings such as payroll, home and auto loans.
Pinheiro Neto’s team advising Creditas was led by partner Bruno Balduccini (pictured) and also featured associate Raphael Palmieri Salomão. The company was also advised by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, led by partner Naveed Anwar.
Law firms Morrison & Foerster and Demarest advised the investors.
