Pinheiro Neto elects new partners and counsel

Pinheiro Neto Advogados announces the election of four new partners and three new counsel, effective January 1, 2024. As of 2024, the firm will proudly comprise of 119 partners and 18 counsel. Learn more about them in the profiles below:

Carlos Edson Strasburg Junior (pictured top left), has been at the firm for 21 years and has extensive experience in litigation and advisory matters involving intellectual property (IP), distribution and franchising agreements, civil liability, and other private law issues. His IP practice includes advising clients on matters involving misuse of confidential information, trademarks, unfair competition, patents, and copyrights. Carlos holds an LL.B. degree and an LL.M. degree in Civil Law from the São Paulo University (USP), having also earned an LL.M. and certificate in Law & Technology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Gustavo Crêdo (pictured top center left), has been a member of the firm’s M&A practice since 2006. He advises Brazilian and international public and private companies in high-stakes M&A transactions, joint ventures, structured transactions, as well as in other complex corporate and governance matters. Gustavo holds an LL.B. degree from the São Paulo University (USP) and an LL.M. in Business Law from the University of California, Berkeley. He has also acted as foreign associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, USA.

Thaís Fernandes Chebatt (pictured top center right), has been at the firm since 2005. She advises clients on contentious and transactional matters related to construction and infrastructure projects, including pre-contractual project feasibility review; contractual model selection; structuring; review and negotiation of construction contracts; contract management; and contract-related national and international judicial and arbitral disputes, as well as other alternative dispute resolution methods (such as mediation, dispute boards and expert determination). Thaís holds an LL.B. degree from the São Paulo Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-SP), a certificate in Infrastructure Contracts from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), a post-graduate degree in Contract Law from the São Paulo Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-SP), and an LL.M. in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London. She has also acted as foreign associate at Macfarlanes LLP, England.

William Roberto Crestani (pictured top right), has been at the firm’s tax area since 2004. He advises domestic and foreign clients on tax and customs issues in a wide range of industries, both in the litigation and advisory spheres, including on the technology, e-commerce, pesticides, bars and restaurants, mining, pharmaceuticals, vehicle leasing, consulting, import and export industries. William holds an LL.B. degree from the Mackenzie Presbyterian University, a certificate in Customs from Aduaneiras Cursos e Treinamentos, a post-graduate degree in Tax Law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and an LL.M. degree in Tax Law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), as well as a certificate in International Taxation from Northwestern University, Chicago.

Camila Misciasci Derisio (pictured bottom left), has 15 years of experience at the firm and focuses her practice on capital markets and structured transactions. She also advises financial institutions and issuers on private placements, debt and equity offerings in Brazil and abroad, tender and exchange offers, as well as other securities regulatory issues. She also advises Brazilian banks, corporate issuers, and investment funds on funding and liability management transactions, as well as on infrastructure debentures. Camila holds an LL.B. degree from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), post-graduate degree in Law from Insper – Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa, and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago School of law. She has also acted as foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP, USA.

Diego Filipe Casseb (pictured bottom center), has been at the firm for 20 years. He advises clients on tax and social security issues, including on advisory and litigation matters, in the administrative and judicial spheres. His practice incudes clients from a wide range of industries, such as services, technology, industries, agribusiness, health, and commercial trade. He also advises clients on compensation plans and private pension regulatory issues. Diego holds an LL.B. degree from the Mackenzie Presbyterian University, a certificate in Tax Law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and an LL.M. in Tax Law from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

Marianna Vieira Barbosa Morselli (pictured bottom right), has advised Brazilian and international clients since 2007 from various industries on real estate corporate matters, including purchase and sale, lease, guarantee, construction, agribusiness, real estate compliance procedures, zoning regulations, licensing, land parceling, condominium, development of real estate projects, shopping malls, and hospitality projects. Marianna holds an LL.B. degree from the São Paulo Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-SP), a certificate in Real Estate Businesses from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago School of Law. She has also acted as foreign associate at Nishimura & Asahi, Japan.
