Pinheiro Neto, Machado Meyer advise on Galeão Airport deal

Pinheiro Neto and Machado Meyer advised on the transaction in which VISA, an investment fund managed by Vinci Compass — the largest asset manager in Latin America — acquired from Changi, the operator of Singapore’s Changi Airport, the indirect control of the concessionaire of Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão Airport, the city’s main international hub.

The renegotiation of the concession agreement with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the Ministry of Ports and Airports, and the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) — resulting in significantly more favorable conditions for the concessionaire — made the deal feasible.

Pinheiro Neto advised Vinci Compass and relied on partner Marcelo Viveiros de Moura (pictured left), associates Miguel Arraes and Bruno Cruz and counsel Gustavo Carneiro.

Machado Meyer advised Changi and relied on leading partners Tito Amaral de Andrade (pictured center), Fabio Falkenburger (pictured right), partners Mauro Penteado, Fernando Tonanni and Rafael Arsie Contin, associates João Demetrio Calfat and Nicoly Barreiros.
