PMK Advogados announces the creation of a practice area
PMK Advogados announced the creation of a practice area dedicated to renewable energy, which will be led by Desire Tamberlini (pictured left) and Cristiane Moreno (pictured right), in the position of co-heads.
The new practice area represents a strategic move to strengthen the firm’s presence in a dynamic and rapidly expanding sector, where in recent years we have advised clients on significant project development and financing transactions through the capital markets and on M&A transactions involving energy assets.
The creation of this area reinforces PMK’s commitment to expanding its presence in a segment in which Brazil has great potential to occupy a prominent position on the global stage.
Desire Tamberlini brings to PMK more than 22 years of experience in legal advisory services for various players in the electricity sector, such as generators (wind, hydroelectric plants, small hydroelectric plants, thermal power plants), transmission companies, distributors, traders, and large consumers.
Desire has worked at companies such as Votorantim Energia (formerly Auren) and CTG Brasil, where she was responsible for due diligence, administrative proceedings before ANEEL, ARSESP, and CCEE, in addition to conducting M&A operations.
She is the Coordinator of the Electric Energy Committee of IBDE – Brazilian Institute for Energy Law Studies and a member of the Board of Directors of the same institution, as well as being the Legal Director of ABHAV – Brazilian Association of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia since 2023. She holds a law degree from Mackenzie University, a postgraduate degree in Business Law from PUC/SP, and a specialization in Legal and Economic Fundamentals of Electricity Sector Regulation from FGV/Law.
Cristiane Moreno is a professional with extensive experience in the energy, agriculture, financial institutions, and industry sectors. Her career includes solid experience in regulatory environments, strategic partnership negotiations, and compliance.
She is currently Head of Member Relations and Governance at the CCS Brazil Association, where she is responsible for strategic partnerships and representing the association at events on the carbon market and carbon capture, storage, and utilization. Cristiane worked at FS Fueling Sustainability, participating in Brazil’s first carbon capture and storage for bioenergy (BECCS) project, and at Órigo Energia, pioneering the structuring of consortium and cooperative models for distributed photovoltaic solar energy generation.
She holds a law degree from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, an LL.M. in Financial and Capital Markets from Insper, a refresher course in Compliance from Facamp, and training in the Preparation Program for Women on Boards of Directors from Saint Paul Business School.
