PN advises Unigranrio that is bought by BRL700 mi
Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised Universidade do Grande Rio Professor José de Souza Herdy – UNIGRANRIO that was bought by medical education group Afya for BRL700 million
The medical education group Afya, through its subsidiary Afya Participações S.A., has reached an agreement to buy Unigranrio, for 700 million reais. The amount will be paid 60% in cash at closing and the remaining in four equal annual installments.
In addition to the purchase price, Afya has committed to pay the sellers an additional Earn Out amount linked to the approval of additional seats in the medical courses upon approval by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, which may total approximately R$ 90 million.
The Pinheiro Neto team was led by partner Álvaro Uliani M. dos Santos (pictured), senior associate Priscila Gurgel Menezes, associates Leonardo Simões Biglia, Bruno Mesquita Marback and trainee attorney Andressa Ickowicz.
