PPU acts as Colombian counsel to S4 Capital on Digocloud buyout

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) has acted as Colombian counsel to London-based digital advertising group S4 Capital on its acquisition of Digocloud, part of Digodat, a leading Latin American data and analytics consultancy based in Argentina, with offices in Colombia, Mexico and Chile.

PPU advised S4 Capital on the due diligence process, transactional matters, and merger control procedure in Colombia regarding the acquisition, the value of which was not disclosed. 

“We are proud to have acted as counsel to S4 Capital in a completely virtual multi-cross border deal, spanning more than four jurisdictions,” the law firm said.

“This deal entailed for us not only M&A work but also merger control procedures in Colombia, and was driven to completion 100 per cent remotely, demonstrating that, despite the pandemic, the legal industry in Latin America has found the way to seamlessly deliver.”

PPU’s team was led by corporate and M&A partner Nicolás Tirado (pictured), with corporate and M&A senior associate María Garrido, competition and antitrust partner Diego Cardona, and competition and antitrust senior associate Federica del Llano.

Travers Smith acted as UK counsel to the buyer, Garrido acted as Argentinian counsel to the sellers, and BackStartup acted as Colombian counsel to the sellers.
