PPU advises Banco Santander on Mercury Trade Finance acquisition

Philippi Prietozarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (PPU) has acted as Chilean counsel Banco Santander on acquisition of a 50.1-per cent stake in the Chilean arm of Mercury Trade Finance Solutions.

The transaction was valued at 60 million euros ($64.8 million)

PPU’s team was led by partner Tomás Acosta (pictured), with associates Ignacio Vargas and Aref Cosma.

Acosta also led PPU’s team advising as Chilean counsel to JS Held in the acquisition of Chilean company Contract Administration Associates Chile. The value of that deal was not disclosed.
